Ravi Prakash Speaks out.

He is a known face in Telugu cinema, with almost 50 films to his credit. And now, actor Ravi Prakash is all set to test new waters in Tamil with the Simbu- Anushka starrer Vaanam.

"I am reprising the role I played in the Telugu original, Vedham, and I'm really glad to team up with an actor like Prakash Raj. In the Telugu version, it was Manoj Bajpai who essayed the role and it was a bit easy for me to take on him, as he was leaner than Prakash Raj. But, in the Tamil version, I had to look as tough as Prakash Raj and that was quite a challenge," he explains.

The actor is quite upbeat that he's got an opportunity to work in Kollywood as well. "I really cannot comment a lot about the way the two industries function as I have not done too many films here. I just want to experiment with a variety of roles," says Ravi, who plays a pilot in Radha Mohan's forthcoming flick Payanam. He was also seen in Anushka's Panchamugi, where he played the villain.

So, how has the journey been in tinsel town for this doctor-turned actor? "It's been eight years since I entered the industry and I'm happy with the way my career is going. Acting happened by sheer accident. I used to do a lot of ramp shows and that's how I was spotted and selected for the lead role in the Telugu film, Shubhavela. And now that my career in Tamil cinema has also taken off, I have all the more reason to be happy," signs off the excited actor.
