Is Poda Podi Back on stage?

Hello all,

Recently there was a huge speculation in the media that Poda podi Starring Simbu was dropped. But according to our sources we got to know that Poda Podi is still in the pipe line and Simbu is yet to decide on which movie to do first, either vaaliban or Poda Podi.

Vaaliban is a Nic Arts Production and has few pehenomenal names, like R.D . Rajasekhar and others.

Surgeries in Sofía, Bulgaria

This Sunday I traveled to Sofía in Bulgaria to operate with Dr. Iliya Kalchev. He is a young urologist who has invested in the creation of a private hospital in Sofía, the Hill Clinic, and is determined to lead the technological change in urology in his country. He is the first user of the Greenlight Laser in his country. I met him when he came to visit me in April. I was very impressed with the quality of his installations.

We operated four patients together and everything took place smoothly. We had a good chance to discuss surgical tips and tricks and strategies to avoid problems and perform good operations. One of the patients was operated under general anaesthesia and we could remove his catheter two hours after the operation. This caused a great impact in the hospital's personnel and to the patient himself!

Then we did a brief tour of Sofia by car, with a lot of traffic, but I could see Sofía is a wonderful city. I could only take this photo of the cathedral. Then we had dinner in a typical bulgarian restaurant. I then took a morning flight back to madrid on tuesday.

Happy Navaratri

In northern India, devotees break their fast every evening with specially prepared food, devoid of spices. Whole communities gather every evening to watch Ramlila, the enactment of the Ramayana. On Dussehra, the tenth day, huge effigies of Ravana and his brothers are set up. When Ram’s flame-tipped arrow pierces the demon, setting him ablaze, the crowds go berserk with joy, even as fireworks light up the night sky.

In West Bengal, this is “Pujo” time; the entire population gets down to the serious business of celebrating these ten days. Much of the festive atmosphere comes from the public celebrations. Huge, exquisite papier-mâché idols of Ma Durga are erected in various parts of cities and towns. Every evening, families and friends gather to pray, eat and socialize and engage in cultural activities. On Vijayadashami, the last day, the idols are borne in a triumphal procession to be submerged into a river.

In western India, particularly Gujarat, Navratri is linked both with fertility and agricultural rites. Community dances are a fascinating aspect of the celebration. Men perform the wonderfully energetic dandiya-raas to the beat of the dholak. Women perform the garba. Holding painted sticks in their hands, the dancers move around in circles, creating complex patterns, with their full, glittering skirts swirling around in a kaleidoscope of hues.

In southern homes, Navratri is a more private celebration. Many families set up a traditional ‘kolu’ or display of handcrafted dolls. A typical kolu would have scenes from Indian village life or the life stories of saints. Floors are beautifully decorated with colorful rangoli patterns. After evening prayers, women and girls dressed in their traditional best, visit each other’s homes. This is very much a Ladies’ Day Out for nine continuous days!

Ramadan Wishes

The Islamic holiday of Eid ul-Fitr (Arabic: عيد الفطر‎) marks the end of the fasting period of Ramadan and the first day of the following month, after another new moon has been sighted. The Eid falls after 29 or 30 days of fasting, per the lunar sighting. Eid ul-Fitr means the Festival of Breaking the Fast; a special celebration is made. Food is donated to the poor (‘Zakat al-Fitr’), everyone puts on their best, usually new, clothes, and communal prayers are held in the early morning, followed by feasting and visiting relatives and friends. The prayer is two rakaahs only, and it is optional (mustahabb) prayer as opposed to the compulsory five daily prayers. Muslims are expected to do this as an act of worship, and to thank Allah (God).

Simbu Gets his BMw x6 Delivered

Hi All..

Few Weeks Back we reported that Simbu is getting a new BMW Car.

Today the car was delivered at his residence . It is a White BMW X6 and the number is yet to be registered. We cant Give the Number as we are not in Chennai to get a glimpse of it.

Visitor from France: Professor Georges Fournier

Today I received the visit of Prof. Georges Fournier, from University Hospital of Brest, France, accompanied by Rivier Dominique, from AMS.

Prof. Fournier is a very prestigious urologist specially known for his dedication to laparoscopy and prostate cancer. He was interested to see the two greenlight laser operations we had programmed for today.

We had a good chance to discuss the vaporization technique as well as the new Greenlight laser enucleation of the prostate technique I am working on that will surely become a popular topic of urological conversation during this year.

Seguro que nos ha dado muchas horas de entretenimiento con tanta acción e intrigas entre los que formaban el equipo de la Sección Uno. ¿Pero sabían que esa serie también nos ha dado una cantante? Y no cualquier cantante sinó una muy buena. Ella se llama Tara Slone, es canadiense y su papel en la serie fue interpretar a Gail, la novia de Birkoff, el chico de las computadoras. Comenzó su carrera musical con la banda Joydrop poniendo su excelente voz a temas de rock pop dandoles un contraste muy agradable, ya que siempre las cantantes de rock tienen una voz mas dura y menos delicada, pero su voz dulce convierte esos temas en algo único. Cuando se disuelve esa banda inicia su carrera solista con el album Just Look Pretty and Sing “Se bonita y canta”. Se destaca en ese CD el tema “We were stars”, que combina a la perfección la instrumentación dura del rock con la cuidada voz de Tara. En el video pueden ver un pequeño fragmento de la serie Nikita en donde ella aparece y a continuación el video clip promocional del tema “We were stars”.

Entre las últimas incorporaciones a nuestro equipamiento se encuentra la controladora HD 2500 que es el último salto de Denon hacia la completa digitalización del sonido para DJ, porque ahora ya no son necesarios los CD ya que esta unidad, de última generación, cuenta con un disco rígido interno que almacena toda la biblioteca musical de la misma manera que lo haría una computadora. Cuando se habla de música pop internacional los paises de referencia siempre son EEUU, Inglaterra o quizas Francia, pero la caida de la Cortina de Hierro ha logrado que la modernidad musical llegue al este y han surgido cantantes y grupos musicales que nada tienen que envidiarle a los del resto del mundo.
Una de esas nuevas voces es Alina Grosu, de Ucrania que comienza su carrera como cantante infantil pero con su tema "En el piso 19" saltó al tope del ranking de Europa Oriental pasando a ser toda una estrella del pop, aunque por estos lados del mundo tanto su trayectoria como sus canciones son totalmente desconocidas.

Mourning : Kavignar Vaali's Wife Passes Away.

Ramani Thilagam, wife of veteran lyricist Vaali, succumbed to old age today in Chennai. She was also unwell for quite sometime owing to health complications that occur with old age.
Celebrities from Tamil cinema paid homage to the departed soul at Vaali's residence where the body is kept. Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi also paid her final respects.

Ameer’s Teamwork production house launched the audio of their Yogi directed by Subramaniyashiva on Sunday morning(Sep 13) at Sathyam Cinemas.

A very slick trailer of the film with English voice over was showcased along with a mass kuthu song mixed with Bharathanatiyam Chennai Koovathilae.. choreographed by Dinesh and picturised on Ameer and his gang was screened.

The heroine of the film Madhumita wearing a chiffon sari and second lead heroine Swathy (Remember in the late 90’s she was Vijay’s and Ajit’s favourite heroine before they became superstars) in a skin coloured leggings was the cynosure of all eyes.
Among those present were actors Jayam Ravi, Jeeva, Thalaivan Silambarassan, Sasikumar, Cheran directors Bala, Seeman, Karu Palaniappan, Radhamohan, Samuthrakanni and other bigwigs of the industry like Hansraj Saxena, Ramanarayanan, KRG, Editor Mohan, Paneerselvam.and Kalaipuli Sekharan.

Simbu Watches Eeram Preview

Lss Silambarasan today watched the Movie Eeram a Shankar Production.
And the buzz on Eeram a romantic thriller directed by Arvazhagan and featuring little known stars like Aadhi, Nanda and Sindhu Menon is good.
Shankar had a special screening of the film on Thursday evening for his friends in the industry, and they seemed to have loved it.
Though the film is opening in only seven screens in Chennai, it is getting prime time shows in the multiplexes. Imagine Sathyam big screen is giving the important noon and evening shows.
